LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va (7News) — Just two months after Loudoun County deputies recovered $1.4 million worth of cryptocurrency from a scam, an Ashburn resident was swindled.
The complainant told police that this all began when they received a call from an unknown number.
Over a series of weeks, the man formed an intimate relationship with the caller.

This unknown party convinced the complainant to invest in a cryptocurrency trading app, according to a police report.
After his investment, the complainant tried to withdraw money. After he was unable to, he realized that he had been scammed and reported this to the police on April 5.
