EFCC warns public against fake land vendors in Abuja – Tribune Online

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned the public against fake land vendors in Abuja.
In a statement by the EFCC, this followed the arrest of a fake land vendor, Nwobo Williams Chibuike, in Abuja for allegedly swindling members of the public “through offers of fake plots of land in Kurudu, Sabon Lugbe East Extension, Kpeyegyi and Jikoyi Village Extension, all in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
The commission took to its official social media account on X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the case.
According to the statement, “Investigations showed that Chibuike, self-styled Managing Director of C&C Reality & Construction Limited, Dream-Krest Homes and Properties Limited and Dan Faith Shelters Limited, was marketing fictitious and non-existing landed properties in several locations in the FCT and getting his victims to make payments ranging from N60,000,000 (Sixty Million Naira), N24,000,000 (Twenty-Four Million Naira), N11,000,000 (Eleven Million Naira) to N3,500,000 (Three Million Five Hundred Naira) in locations such as Karsana, Pyakasa, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Katampe Extension, Guzape 2, Kuje and other locations in the FCT.”
The statement added that the EFCC’s inquiries from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) revealed that the locations that were advertised and sold were fake.
The EFCC, in the statement, further revealed that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
