Freecash Review [2025]: Legit Cash Rewards for Dedicated Users – FinanceBuzz

Freecash is a legit rewards platform that pays real money to play games and test products and services, but it took us a while to rack up earnings when testing this side hustle.
This article was subjected to a comprehensive fact-checking process. Our professional fact-checkers verify article information against primary sources, reputable publishers, and experts in the field.
The Freecash platform offers many legit ways to earn extra money from your phone or web browser. You can get paid to play games, take surveys, complete tasks, and more. You’ll either be assigned to Lite or Advanced Mode (hint: you’ll have a wider array of offers and earning opportunities in Advanced Mode).
Freecash’s payouts are fast and reliable, and you have multiple ways to redeem your earnings. Since I was assigned to Lite Mode, I didn’t qualify for all activities, which impacted my earnings. I found that I needed to spend a lot of time playing games before I could withdraw from the platform.
That said, Freecash can still be worth it, and it’s very highly rated. If you want a variety of tasks and games to choose from and a range of ways to get paid, Freecash would be one of the first apps I’d recommend.
Gaming apps are a fun way to pass the time, but they can also be a great way to make extra income.
We rate gaming apps based on payout options, the minimum redemption threshold, app store ratings, and how much fun they are to play.
Earning cash within minutes sounds suspicious, but Freecash isn’t a scam. It’s a legitimate get-paid-to (GPT) app you can use to earn real money by trying games and testing offers, and it’s available in the Google Play Store for people aged 13 and over. The app has paid out over $50 million to more than 30 million users. Freecash provides more variety in how you earn and cash out than many other platforms. However, the daily earning potential can be on the lower side compared to some get-paid-to apps, depending on which offers you try.
While you can make money with Freecash, it’s not quite as simple as the site advertises. If you’re placed in Lite Mode when you first sign up, your earnings opportunities are limited to Freecash exclusive tasks, which primarily involve downloading and playing a lot of games. Despite that, Freecash does pay out quickly once you meet the balance minimum, as we can attest.
The Freecash app has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars on more than 149,000 reviews in the Google Play Store. Freecash also has more than 160,000 reviews on Trustpilot and a 4.7 out of 5-star rating, which is very high for a platform like this and a testament to the app’s trustworthiness.
Freecash is a fun, low-effort way to earn a little extra cash. I’ve played for about an hour daily and made $5.95 (including a $5 bonus cash) on Android and $1.60 on Apple. If you’re assigned to Advanced Mode, you’ll have a higher earnings potential. Plus, you might get lucky with a high-paying offer. Since I was assigned to Lite Mode based on my region, I could only access games and a few surveys. I didn’t receive options to watch ads, sign up for websites, or complete other tasks.
Freecash was easy to access and download, and it had a wide selection of games. I’ve been using Freecash on an Android phone and Chrome web browser. I also signed up using my Apple laptop and iPad to test the functionality for iOS devices.

Freecash games available to play.

Freecash is a “get-paid-to” website and Android app that pays you to complete various activities. The available opportunities on Freecash vary but include downloading and playing game apps, completing surveys, watching ads or videos, and testing partner websites.
The Freecash website is accessible to iOS and Android users, but Freecash currently only offers an Android app. If you use Freecash on Apple through the browser, you must also have an iPad or iPhone to download and play various games. It’s a little trickier to make money on your phone with Freecash as an Apple user, but it’s possible.
Like similar platforms, you don’t actually play games or take surveys directly on Freecash. Instead, you access the games or surveys from the Freecash app or website. Once you’ve selected the game, Freecash directs you to the app store to complete the download or a partner website to start a survey or complete another paid offer.
Once you’ve downloaded the app through Freecash, every time you open the individual game app, Freecash will track your progress and award you points. As you earn money, your Freecash balance will increase.
Freecash offers multiple payout methods, including PayPal, bank transfer, gift cards, and a website called Stake, which allows you to access various cryptocurrencies.
When you sign up for Freecash, the site sorts you into Lite Mode or Advanced Mode based on your region. When I used the Android app and the Freecash website for Apple, I was automatically placed in Lite Mode based on my zip code.
Being assigned to Lite Mode limits the number and types of earning opportunities to Freecash exclusive offerings only. While I had plenty of games to choose from, Freecash limited the amount I could earn until I could move out of Lite Mode.

You can enter Advanced Mode after you reach level 20 in Freecash. Each level requires you to earn 1,000 coins (equal to $1), so you’ll need to earn 20,000 coins ($20) and get to level 20 to reach Advanced Mode and unlock more earning opportunities.
To put the earning potential in perspective, I earned 840 coins over four days, so I have a long way to go before I can exit Lite Mode.

Advanced Mode has several additional earnings opportunities, including tutorial rewards, bonus codes, and daily bonus ladders. It also increases the opportunities you qualify for, provides an affiliate system to earn more coins passively, and rewards you for earning more than 1,000 coins daily for up to seven days.
Games are by far the easiest way to earn money on Freecash. You’ll find multiple game options, including Solitaire, bingo, town-building, matching, character games, and war/shooting games.
I chose six games through the Freecash Android app. Once the games finished downloading, their icons appeared in Freecash under the My Offers tab, and the app tracked how much I played each one.

Freecash my offers.

The games were free to download, but you can make in-game purchases or watch ads to earn more game currencies, like coins or gems, which help you reach higher levels. Freecash awards money based on the specific levels you reach in a game or specific tasks, like playing for a certain time.
You don’t have to pay to use Freecash or any of the games it provides. However, to reach the biggest payouts, you’ll likely need to spend some money within the individual games to help you get to higher levels quickly.

You can also earn money through Freecash by taking online surveys. The Android app and desktop didn’t offer me any surveys, but they did appear on the iOS desktop. I only qualified for three, each worth $0.19 to $0.41.
Two of the surveys I clicked on disqualified me based on demographics and what the market research companies were looking for. The one I did qualify for was political and focused on the upcoming presidential election.
The only part of this particular survey I enjoyed was its structure, which placed photos of cats between the questions to help keep it light. However, the survey itself dealt with sensitive topics.

A kitten is featured at the end of a survey.

I would not recommend answering surveys exclusively through Freecash. It was hard to find surveys to qualify for, and the payouts were low. You’ll likely earn more through Survey Junkie or InboxDollars. However, occasionally checking the survey options on Freecash might be beneficial if you can find a high-paying option and qualify for it.

On the Google Play Store, Freecash says that “… the average Freecash user can earn around $17.53 per day with a first coin cash out after only 17 minutes and 16 seconds of playing.” However, the Freecash website says, “Our users can bag up to $12.87 daily by dedicating just about 17 minutes to task completion.”
That may be true if you can access Advanced Mode as soon as you sign up. But since I had to play in Lite Mode, my earnings were limited to the games I could access and a couple of surveys.
Each task or game on Freecash is worth a different amount, and it shows you the total you could potentially earn before you download each game. Some games were only worth $50, while one was worth more than $1,200. Most were worth between $100 and $300.
However, just because you could earn the advertised amount doesn’t mean you will.
When you click on a specific game, Freecash will show you how much you earn for completing tasks, such as playing for two minutes a day, playing on seven different days, or reaching various levels in the game. The dollar amounts increase as you reach higher levels of difficulty.
Freecash also offers limited-time payouts for some achievements, such as reaching a certain level within a week or by a specific day. Once the deadline passes, the earning opportunity is gone.

For example, the total earnings possible in a game called Animals & Coins is $283. However, you only get $0.01 per day for playing for two minutes. You can earn an additional $0.38 for playing on seven different days and $0.75 if you play for 20 days.
Additionally, you will earn $0.02 if you reach level four. However, if you reach level 500, you’ll receive $37.50. If you reach level 135 within a set time frame, you would receive $30, but that would require near-constant playing.
One game called Balloon Master says you can earn $125. I received $0.01 for downloading and opening the app. The next payouts would be $15 for reaching level 400 within seven days and $20 for reaching level 800 in 10 days. After five days of playing for roughly 20 minutes each time, I had reached level 31.

So, while earning money playing games with Freecash is possible, it won’t happen quickly, and you’ll need to devote significant time to reaching high levels in individual games.
Although the amounts you can earn on games are relatively small for the time invested, the earning potential for surveys is even lower. Freecash says that most survey participants earn between $0.25 and $1 per survey, but occasionally higher-paid options are available.
Each survey took five to 10 minutes, but I could only earn a few cents each in compensation. For example, I earned $0.41 for taking the 10-minute political survey. I didn’t qualify for the other two surveys in my Featured Surveys box, but they only offered $0.14 and $0.19, respectively.

If you have access to the Advanced Mode, you will likely earn larger amounts faster than those of us in Lite Mode. As you earn your way, consider the following to help you make progress.
To start a withdrawal with Freecash, go to the Cashout section at the bottom-right corner of the Freecash mobile website or on the top navigation bar of the desktop version.
The first minimum cashout amount is $20, and you must reach level 20. If you forfeit your $5 sign-up bonus, your minimum drops to $5. However, the bonus cash doesn’t count towards the minimum coin requirement to reach level 20.
After that, every withdrawal must be a minimum of $5 (and up to $200) for PayPal, bank transfers, or gift cards. Stake.us users have a minimum withdrawal amount of $0.10.

Freecash showed me several payout options, including:
Withdrawals via PayPal and bank transfers have a 5% flat fee. Consider withdrawing funds to a Visa gift card rather than via PayPal or a bank transfer to make the most of your earnings. That way, you’ll avoid the 5% flat fee but still be able to use your funds at stores that accept Visa.
Freecash says that most withdrawals are instantaneous on its end but may take up to 30 minutes if processing delays occur. If you request a bank transfer via ACH, your funds may take up to three business days to arrive in your account.
Freecash has a high rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot and 4.1 on the Google Play Store. While some users have encountered problems, most enjoy using the app, according to real Freecash reviews.
One Trustpilot reviewer, Phoebe, wrote this positive review:
On Google Play, Brittney gave this recommendation:
The developer seems to respond to most ratings for its mobile app, which I don’t often see.
But while Freecash’s reviews are mostly positive, some users encounter issues with the app.
Dmytro shared the following negative feedback:
Freecash is generally easy to use, based on our own experience, and players earn money. However, there may be issues with having your participation in various tasks counted. If you encounter that issue, contact Freecash customer service as soon as possible to correct the situation.
Freecash stands out because of how quickly it pays out, but it isn’t the only legit game app. If you’re interested in other ways to make money, consider the three picks below. For more options, check out the best apps and sites like Freecash.
Cash Giraffe functions similarly to Freecash but offers only games rather than multiple activities.
It is free to sign up for and doesn’t have ads. Like Freecash, you’ll first visit Cash Giraffe and download games from its portal. Cash Giraffe will track the time you spend playing and award tickets you can exchange for gift cards or cash out through Paypal. The site also offers discounts from retailers.
It’s available on the Google Play Store, where it has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars and over 356,000 reviews.

If you’re disappointed in how little you can earn for taking surveys on Freecash, try Survey Junkie. This is an online market research platform owned by DISQO. You’ll build a profile on Survey Junkie’s website, and based on your answers, the platform will match you with available surveys.
For every survey you complete, you’ll earn points to redeem via PayPal or gift cards to various retailers. You can also participate in the Surf to Earn Community, which will require downloading a browser extension and allowing Survey Junkie to track your browsing habits. You can belong to both communities and earn rewards from each.

InboxDollars is similar to Freecash in that it allows you to complete a variety of tasks, such as answering surveys, reading emails, and playing games. You get a $5 bonus just for signing up. Plus, you can maximize your earnings and meet the $15 minimum cash-out by referring friends and choosing higher-paying tasks.
Unlike Freecash, InboxDollars is available to download as an app on both iOS and Android. It also offers a variety of redemption options via PayPal, gift cards, and more.

Is Freecash safe to use?

Freecash is a legit “get-paid-to” app that really pays out. You can select a variety of tasks, including downloading and playing game apps, answering surveys, watching online ads, signing up for websites, and signing up for brand promotions.

When you’ve met the $0.10 to $5 minimum withdrawal requirement based on payout method (or $20 if it’s your first withdrawal), you can select between PayPal, a bank transfer, cryptocurrency through the Stake website, or gift cards from Visa, Google Play, Apple, or Amazon.

Is Freecash worth the time?

If you find a game you enjoy on the platform, Freecash can be a good way to earn extra money when you reach higher levels. However, you’ll probably have to invest a lot of time to make it worthwhile, especially if you’re in Freecash’s Lite Mode with limited earning opportunities.

After reaching level 20 in Freecash, you qualify for more earning options, but it may take several days or weeks, depending on how long it takes you to earn coins.

How long does Freecash take to pay out?

Freecash payouts are usually instantaneous but may take up to 30 minutes to receive. If you opt for an ACH transfer, your funds can take up to three business days to arrive in your account.

Although Freecash is a legitimate app, it requires you to invest some time. To level up in Freecash, you must dedicate time to playing games, completing tasks, and earning coins to reach higher levels and earn more money. Your options are also more limited if you end up in Lite Mode.
Freecash can be a good way to supplement other online side hustles, but it probably shouldn’t be the only website or app you use. Strategize ways to earn more with Freecash based on the unique opportunities presented to you. Pick one or two games and focus on reaching the high levels required to earn the most from the platform.
