This will give users access to both crypto and mainstream markets in one place.
In a move that blends crypto with Wall Street, Bybit is now adding U.S. stocks, gold, and oil to its trading platform.
Unlike Binance’s previous stock token options, which allowed synthetic exposure, Bybit says its upcoming integration will let users trade actual instruments like gold, crude oil, and major U.S. stocks, like Apple and MicroStrategy. The rollout is expected before the end of Q2 2025.
This move is a clear sign that for crypto to gain broader adoption, especially among institutions, it has to meet traditional finance halfway. And with that in mind, Bybit seems to be shifting its product strategy to reach a wider mix of retail and institutional investors.
To make this happen, the new features will be integrated into Bybit’s current infrastructure, including MetaTrader 5 (MT5), which already supports leveraged gold trading. Users will also have access to up to 500x leverage on select instruments, an offer geared toward seasoned traders who are comfortable taking on higher risk.
But there’s more to it than just features. This expansion also reflects the current market mood. With the Trump administration leaning pro-crypto, and more investors looking for platforms that offer both digital and traditional assets, Bybit is positioning itself to catch that wave.
Naturally, this move puts them in direct competition with platforms like Robinhood, which already allow users to trade both crypto and stocks.
At the same time, Bybit’s move to add traditional stocks and commodities couldn’t be more timely, especially in the aftermath of the 500,000 ETH hack that wiped out roughly $1.5 billion, with nearly 28% of the funds still untraceable. However, giving its ~30 million users access to more stable and familiar assets like U.S. stocks and gold might be exactly what the platform needs to steady the ship and start rebuilding trust.
